Last weekend was the 2nd Annual South Dakota Outdoor Expo at the State Fair grounds. Todd had to work at the U. S. Fish & Wildlife exhibit both days, so we decided to take advantage of the free admission and do some activities.
Jack and Lexi really enjoyed the hands-on activity that Dad had to work. It was called "Exploring a Wetland" and they got to see/touch/examine the small animals that live in a wetland. Jack loved scooping up the water to see what was in there.
Lexi really liked to pick up the snails. Yes, she even put one in her mouth...sigh. 
Another activity that was sponsored by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Fire Management crew was using the fire hose to move a ball across the grass. Jack got to try it a few times...this is what Dad does some days! 
And then we had to try on some antlers. 
Jack rounded out his fair experience by showing us his fishing skills in a pool of fish (they weren't biting though).
