Todd's supervisor at U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has apple trees that produced an abundant crop this year so she invited over to pick apples. They are perfect "baking" apples (tasted like Cortlands to me)...we have made apple pie, apple crisp, and applesauce so far. 
Jack enjoyed picking apples that he could reach off the trees.
Jack also likes to throw the apples around like a ball. We have many that are bruised.
