Last Thursday, Todd came from work for lunch at his usual time. A few minutes after he left to return to the office, he bolted into the house changed into his fire clothes...there was a wildfire that started just past the Refuge. The smoke filled the house and area within minutes (so the dog got an impromptu afternoon stay in the house). Thankfully, the fire was contained in about 4.5 hours, only burning the wheat field it started in, some trees, and some grass. We are lucky to have great people trained to fight wildfires (ahem, Todd, Nick, and other fire managers).
